Training, Research, Service Provision, Design and Development, Independent Consultant

I have over 25 years of experience in the provision of Assistive Technology, primarily wheelchairs and custom seating components for wheelchairs. I was employed as a Rehabilitation Engineer at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC) for 18 years and managed the Rehabilitation Engineering Department for the last 14 years along with the Wheelchair Seating and Mobility Center for the last 5 years of my employment at RIC. Throughout my service as a manager, I continued to provide direct clinical service to individual clients. Since 2004 I have been employed by the Center for International Rehabilitation (CIR) and by Whirlwind Wheelchair International. During my time at CIR, I managed a research-based, 2 year wheelchair provision project conducted in Kabul, Afghanistan and was a primary contributor to the Guidelines on the Provision of Manual Wheelchairs in Less Resourced Settings. In 2012 I became an Independent Consultant and have primarily participated in projects initiated by USAID and facilitated by Management Sciences for Health.
